ANTIMICROBIAL POLYAMIDE COMPOSITION, ITS PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION OF ANTIMICROBIAL POLYAMIDE YARN

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain an antimicrobial polyamide composition, having both excellent antimicrobial properties and whiteness, providing a molded article such as antimicrobial yarn capable of extremely improving moldability without lowering its whiteness, consequently useful for various uses such as antimicrobial fibers attaching great importance to coexistence of antimicrobial properties and coexistence of color tone and moldability. CONSTITUTION: The particle size of high silica mordenite supporting 5-15wt.% of silver ion is adjusted to >=0.1μm number-average particle diameter and <=20wt.% particles having >=1μm particle diameter. The particles are substantially added to a polymerization process of a polyamide to produce an antimicrobial polyamide composition having 2-40wt.% of the particles based on the total amount of the component. The antimicrobial polyamide composition is mixed with a polyamide not containing an antimicrobial zeolite to concentrate the concentration of the antimicrobial zeolite and the blend is subjected to melt spinning to produce an antimicrobial polyamide yarn.
