PURPOSE: To facilitate handling and to obviate the generation of appearance defects, such as unequal colors and black spot, and disconnection by electrode crack by arranging a liquid crystal cell formed by sealing liquid crystals between two sheets of substrates which are disposed to face each other, have transparent electrodes on their inside surfaces and have flexibility, into a transparent casing. CONSTITUTION: The transparent electrodes 3 are formed on the upper and lower substrates 1, 2 and oriented films 6 are formed thereon. Next, a sealing material 4 is formed on the one substrate and two sheets of the substrates are adhered to face each other by a spacer 8. Next, the liquid crystals 5 are fitted between the substrates and the substrates are sealed, by which the liquid crystal cell is produced. An upper polarizing plate 9 is stuck to the upper substrate 1 surface side of the cell and a polarizing plate 10 with a reflection plate is stuck to the lower substrate 2 surface side to produce the liquid crystal display element 20. Further, a heat seal connector 11 is connected to an electrode terminal part 7. The integrated liquid crystal display element 20 as well as the upper polarizing plate 9 and the polarizing plate 10 with the reflection plate are inserted into a transparent plastic case 30, such as case formed by molding an acrylic resin, by which the liquid crystal display element is completed. |
