摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To perform compression encoding of data in an image with high efficiency by encoding the residual component of a predictive image and an input image in a current frame corresponding to reliability functions on the candidate positions of eyes or mouth in the image. CONSTITUTION: A synthesizer 3 forms a predictive image 24 of the current frame by deforming a preceding frame image 21 corresponding to the reliability functions of candidate positions based on motion parameters provided from a motion analyzer 2. A threshold value processor 8 inputs a residual component 25 of the predictive image 24 and an image 22 of the current frame and inputs a reliability function 26 provided from a searching device 1. When the reliability functions are '1' and '0' concerning an image area x-y, a threshold value is turned to '0' and adjusted the more the reliability functions get close to '0' and '0', the more the threshold value can be enlarged. Then, threshold value processing 27 is performed to the residual component 25 and the function 26, and they are outputted. In this case, an encoder 4 transmits the residual component 27, to which threshold value processing is performed, and the motion parameter outputted from the motion analyzer 2 to the side of a receiver. Thus, the data in the image are compressed and encoded with high efficiency.</p>
