PURPOSE: To obtain high durability of a photoreceptor without wear or damage on the surface of a photosensitive layer even when images are repeatedly formed and to obtain a sharp image. CONSTITUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer 6 on a conductive supporting body 1. The outermost surface layer of the photoreceptor contains silica particles containing <=1000ppm aluminum component, <=300ppm calcium component, and <=1000ppm iron component or containing none of these and having 0.05-5μm volume average particle size. This electrophotographic photoreceptor is used for the electrophotographic device.
