PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for deciding the position of face accurately when the orientation and distance to a camera are not fixed and an accurate error-free wink detector. CONSTITUTION: Means 10 picks up the image of the face of a driver. Measuring means 12, 14 measure the size of eye in the image of face thus picked up and the relative positional relationship between the eye and other feature points, as parameters. Means 18 stores the reference values of the parameter. Means 15 decides the position of face, where the orientation and distance to the image pickup means are not fixed, based on the difference or the ratio between the parameter and the reference value. |
