摘要

PURPOSE: To perform a tracking process fast and update reference image data used for correlation arithmetic at an arbitrary point of time in the middle of the tracking process. CONSTITUTION: The local area image tracking device which successively tracks an optional local area in a search image represented with search image data by comparing search image data to be tracked among input image data obtained by an image pickup means 1 with reference image data regarding the optional local area has an image data bus 3 which transfers the image input data from the image pickup means 1, and plural relative tracking processors 4-1 to 4-M which are connected to the image data bus 3 in parallel and perform tracking processes independently for at least one search image; and the tracking process for one or plural search image are performed distributedly by plural relative tracking processors 4-1 to 4-M.
