<p>PURPOSE: To lower the probability of malfunction and heighten the accuracy of detecting a critical event by deciding that the dose rate detected by at least two detectors exceeds a threshold and the doubling times match. CONSTITUTION: A critical alarming device comprises plural detectors 1a-1c, a logical circuit 2 and a warning device 3, and the device is installed in nuclear fuel plant to detect a critical event. When the dose rate of radiation exceeds a threshold at the same time in at least two detectors 1a-1c, and the doubling times of dose rates detected by at least two detectors 1a-1c among detectors 1a-1c match, the logical circuit 2 decides criticality.</p> |
