PURPOSE: To obtain excellent copy small in the increase of fogging under a high temp. high humidity by using an electrostatic charge control agent excluding equal to or above a prescribed quantity of a specific compound containing chlorine ion and having a confined structure. CONSTITUTION: This electrostatic charge control agent is a compound expressed by a formula and controlled to be <=100ppm in chlorine content. In the formula, each of R<1> , R<2> , R<3> and R<4> is hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which can have a substituting group, a cycloalkyl group which can have a substituting group and an aralkyl group which can have a substituting group and A expresses an aromatic ring residue group which can have a substituting group. As R<1> , a methyl group, a benzyl group, a lower alkyl group substituted benzyl group, a nitro group substituted benzyl group or a halogen substituted benzyl monomer is preferable. As R<2> , R<3> and R<4> , usually a 2-16C non-substituted alkyl group or benzyl group is preferable and particularly a <=12C alkyl group is preferable.
