发明名称 ELECTRICAL ANALYZING METHOD FOR COD AND COD MEASURING DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE: To electrically measure chemical oxygen demand(COD) in normal temperature by adding an alkaline reagent in a specimen and potassium permanganate, and promoting the reaction. CONSTITUTION: In alkaline conditions, oxidation and reduction reaction of a measuring object sample and potassium permanganate (KMnO4 ) is promoted even in normal temperature. Then, a battery cell 1 having a working electrode 21 and an opposite electrode 33 formed with carbonfelt is constituted and in the electrolyte, such alkaline electrolyte solution as sodium hydroxide is contained and as battery active materials pre-processed KMnO4 is added to the working electrode 21 and ferrocyanic acid ion and the like is added to the opposite electrode 33. When measuring object specimen is injected to the working electrode 21, the specimen and KMnO4 react in normal temperature without heating, electric energy is immediately generated and COD is measured in a short time. Besides, a powdered reagent obtained by freeze-drying the mixture liquid of lithium hydroxide as alkaline reagent and KMnO4 is used for measuring COD of water quality.
