METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING POLYESTER COPOLYMER

Reactants, which comprise 20-80mol.% of p-oxybenzoyl derivatives of formula(I), and 80-20mol.% of components consisting of 4,4'-dioxybiphenyl deriv. of formula(II) and bis( Ù-hydroxy ethylene)terephthalate deriv. of formula(III) and terephthaloyl deriv. of formula(IV), are copolymerized by acethylation at below 280deg.C and 1atm.. The polyester copolymer has easy melt formability, good mechanical properties and optical anisotropy.
