PURPOSE: To improve focusing accuracy while preventing a hunting state by driving and controlling a photographing optical system based on a focusing state obtained by removing the portion of irregular fluctuation from plural focusing states. CONSTITUTION: The photographing optical system is driven and controlled in the case the detected focusing state of the photographing optical system is not in a 1st focusing range(-A to A) before a shutter is released, and it is driven and controlled based on the focusing state D2 obtained by removing the portion of the irregular fluctuation from the plural focusing states when the shutter is released (T1), so that the hunting state in lens-driving caused by the dispersion of the focusing state is prevented before the shutter is released. After the shutter is released, high focusing accuracy is obtained even when the dispersion of the focusing state is found out. It does not matter to set the focusing state where the portion of the irregular fluctuation is removed as the mean value of plural focusing states detected in a specified time before the shutter is re leased. |
