PURPOSE: To conduct self-seeding, and to eliminate the need for each gain medium and the use of a large number of optical elements by constituting a dualcavity by installing a partial reflecting mirror at the output stage of a GIM-type cavity in a wavelength variable laser. CONSTITUTION: A partial reflecting mirror 5 is mounted at the output stage of a GIM-type cavity in a wavelength variable laser and a dual cavity is constituted, and self-seeding is performed. A laser gain medium 2 is set up in front of a total reflecting mirror 1, a diffraction grating 3 and a wavelength-adjusting mirror 4 are fitted in front of the laser gain medium 2, the partial reflecting mirror 5 is installed in front of the diffraction grating 3, a part of laser output light is reflected, and all the 0-th order diffracted light and first-order diffracted light in the diffraction grating are utilized. The GIM-type resonator is made to work as a main resonator, and first order diffracted light by the diffraction grating 3 is reflected by the wavelength-adjusting mirror 4 and laser-oscillated, but an oscillation wavelength is changed by the rotation of the wavelength- adjusting mirror 4. |
