PURPOSE: To make the contents of variations of a musical tone rich by controlling the amplitude, frequency, or number of formant composite signals according to musical factors. CONSTITUTION: A formant control parameter aj(t) is weighted by a multiplier 661 with weighting data WG and put together with formant composite signals Wj(t) by multiplication and division to have their amplitude controlled. Further, formant composite signals Wj(t) which are accumulated by respective series of a musical tone also have amplitudes controlled by a multiplier 660 similarly. The formant control parameters aj(t) and weighted data WG vary with the musical factors, etc., and the contents of the amplitude control is also varied corresponding to them. The frequency or number of formant carrier signals Gj(t) and then the formant composite signals Wj(t) is determined. The values or number of formant carrier parameters ωcj(t) and formant density parameters ωfj(t) of a formant center table 214 vary according to the musical factors and then the contents of control over the frequency or number of formant composite signals Wj(t) is varied correspondingly. |
