<p>Proposed is an adjustable mandrel attached to a wheel in a tubular-sheath-forming machine, the mandrel having a rectangular cross section of given length and width, with rounded corners, and a sheath-sealing pad in the central region (26, 27) of the mandrel. In order to allow the finished sheath to be removed from the mandrel more easily, and preferably also to enable sheaths of various sizes, with different cross-sections, to be produced without the need for complicated conversion procedures, the invention calls for the mandrel to be made up of three main components (6, 9, 10): a centrepiece (6), of thickness D and the above-mentioned height, which includes the sealing pad, plus two sidepieces (9, 10) disposed on each side of the centrepiece (6) and having the same heigth as the centrepiece (6) but a width such that the sum of the widths of the two sidepieces (9, 10) and the centrepiece thickness (D) is equal to the overall cross sectional length of the mandrel and that the sidepieces (9, 10) are detachably mounted on the centrepiece (6).</p> |
