<p>A new method and apparatus for detection of fire hazard and prevention or extinguishing of fire are provided based on activation of a plurality of independently operable nozzles discharging cooling/fire extinguishing agent in a pre-programmed time pattern upon automatic detection of impact imposed on vehicles. The extinguishing agent is preferably CO2 already provided in the vehicle and applied as a refrigerant in the vehicle's air conditioning system.</p> |
