Disclosed is a method for a growth suppression of ineligible plants, consisting in that on the place where shall be growth suppressed, 2,6-substituted pyridine of general formula (I) is applied, wherein X is O or S; A represents eventually substituted five- or six-membered hetero-aromatic group containing N; B represents eventually substituted five- or six-membered cyclic hydrocarbon group, alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkinyl group, aryl group or aralkyl group or some of the groups in the meaning of A; R represents halogen atom, alkyl group, halogen-alkyl group, alkoxy group, alkylthio group or dialkylamino group; and m is number with value 0, 1 or 2, as well as use of these pyridines for growth suppression of ineligible plants. Disclosed are also some of these pyridines as novel substances, their preparation methods and herbicidal preparation based on them.
