PURPOSE: To obtain a powder coating material which has a particle diameter small enough to form a coating film having a reduced thickness, cause no lowering in coverage on an object to be coated in continuous coating by means of a spray gun of triboelectrification type, and has a good leveling property. CONSTITUTION: This powder coating material comprises powder particles containing a binder resin and a curing agent and an inorg. fine powder. The powder particles have an average particle diameter of 5 to 20μm. For the inorg. fine powder, the number of silicon atoms present on the surface thereof is larger than that of fluorine atoms present on the surface thereof, the specific surface area is not less than 70m<2> /g as measured by the BET method, and the CO2 gas adsorption per unit surface area is not more than 4.0per nm<2> . The inorg. fine powder is adhered on the surface of the powder particles in a proportion of 0.05 to 5wt.% based on 100wt.% of the powder particles.
