PURPOSE: To provide a gel electrolyte, capable of producing high electric current having a high energy density and less in the deterioration of a charging/ discharging cycle characteristic, by melting an organic disulfide compound and lithium salt into an organic solvent to gelatinize this solvent by a gelling agent. CONSTITUTION: In S-metallic ion (including proton) bonding produced by cleaving S-S bonding by electrolytic reduction, original S-S bonding is regenerated by electrolytic oxidation to obtain an organic disulfide compound or its lithium salt and lithium salt such as LiCiO4 , etc., are melted in an organic solvent such as ethylene carbonate. At that time, the melted quantity of the organic disulfide compound is preferably 85-110% of saturation quantity. This solvent is gelatinized by a gelling agent such as acrylonitrile copolymer to obtain a gel electrolyte. By using this gel electrolyte, a lithium secondary battery having high performance and a long life can be obtained, which is provided with a positive electrode of composite coating including the organic disulfide compound and polyaniline, and a negative electrode for catching or supplying a lithium ion. |
