PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device which actively removes foreign matters from a developing device and reduces the occurrences of image defects of ring marks which are caused by the mixing of foreign matters into the developing device. CONSTITUTION: The image forming device is equipped with an image carrier 1, the developing device 10 for applying an alternating voltage to a developer carrier 11 which is situated near the image carrier 1 and carrys developer on it, a transfer device 17 for transferring a toner image on the image carrier 1 to recording paper P, and a cleaner 26 for removing residual toner on the image carrier 1. This image forming device is equipped with a special process for selectively sending out foreign matters, existing in the developing device 10, from the developer carrier 1 to the image carrier 1. |
