In a drum brake for vehicles, in which a pair of brake shoes (4, 5) of the same size are pressed against an inner surface of a brake drum (1), whereby a wheel is braked, a natural frequency of one brake shoe (4) out of the two brake shoes (4, 5) and that of the other (5) are set different. Since the natural frequencies of the left and right brake shoes (4, 5) are different, coupled vibration of the brake drum (1) and the two brake shoes (4, 5) hardly occurs. Therefore, this drum brake is effective in greatly reducing the possibility of making a screeching sound.
