The wheel brakes (605-608) are operated independently by a pressure controller which processes input data to determine the individual torques to be applied and issues corresp. commands to the brake valves. The steering angle is detected (612) and used in determn. of the additional yaw torque (M) about the vertical axis (610) of the vehicle, to be applied by a regulator via distribution logic. The braking torque required at each wheel is worked out from the additional yaw torque and the individual weighted coeffts. derived from memorised vehicle-specific quantities.
