PURPOSE: To provide a self-illuminating road-sign which is constituted to ensure sufficient visibility even at night and especially by suitable for installation of it at a general road as a milestone. CONSTITUTION: A road sign comprises a sign body part 1; and a support part, such as a stay 2, to support the sign body part. The sign body part 1 consists of a sign board 3 giving various road information; a light source 4 for illuminating the sign board; and a power source part to light the light source. It is suitable that the sign boards showing the distance from a base point are installed as a milestone sign at intervals of a specified distance along a road. It is suitable that an electroluminescence device is used as the light source. It is suitable that solar cells and a storage battery are used as the power source. |
