PURPOSE: To promptly reach temperature at which a fixing part can be operated and prevent generation of various harmful effects due to temperature of the fixing part by mounting a temperature-detecting means of a heating part for material to be recorded and a control means for controlling the operation and stopping of an attracting means according to the detected temperature. CONSTITUTION: A heater 20 is operated intermittently with 130 deg.C of thermister detection temperature serving as reference temperature, and the temperature of a platen 11 is controlled within 130±2 deg.C. A material to be recorded is fed from a cassette 18 by a paper feed roller 19 or the like. When the material to be recorded is conveyed further by an intermediate roller 12 after feed it, a sensor 10 detects the end of the material to be recorded. When the roller 12 conveys the material to be recorded further, the end of the material to be recorded reaches the clamping part of a roller 1 to form a loop at the clamping part. A roller 1 begins to rotate, and the material to be recorded is conveyed to an image forming start position at the first line. When the end of the material to be recorded reaches the image forming start position at the first line, a carriage 14 installed on the head runs on guide rails 15a, 15b to generate an image on the material to be recorded.
