PURPOSE: To prevent generation of abnormal noise by reducing backlash between spline engagement in simple constitution. CONSTITUTION: A clearance between an outer peripheral surface of a head end part of a camshaft 1 and an inner peripheral surface of an installation part 4γof an installation member 4 is specified asδA, and a clearance between a spline 12 of the installation member 4 and an inside spline 16 of a moving member 10 is specified asδB. When it is respectively set that an inside diameter of the installation part 4γof the installation member 4:ϕA1, a head end part outside diameter of the camshaft 1:ϕA2, a diameter of a circle connecting a head end part of a tooth part 16αon the inside spline 16 of the moving member 10:ϕB1 and a diameter of a circle passing a bottom surface of a groove part on the spline 12 of the installation member 4:ϕB2, a following expression is satisfied.δA=ϕA1-ϕA2>δB=ϕB1-ϕB2. Consequently, it is possible to reduce backlash of each spline engagement part.
