<p>A wear ring (20) constructed for use with a pneumatic tube system carrier (10) of a type having two spaced apart wear rings (20) positioned near the axial ends of the carrier (10). The wear ring (20) is comprised of a rigid, yet flexible, annular support member (22) having an outer cylindrical surface (34). A layer of woven fabric (26) selected from the group consisting of cotton, nylon, wool, or felt is bonded to the cylindrical surface of the support member.
