A block of elastically deformable material in a basic U-shape (3) has a flat rectangular upper surface (4) interrupted by a spiral opening (6), leading into an approximately cylindrical central space (5). The cable or pipe is introduced into the latter, between the opposing walls (6', 6") of the opening. The block is then fitted into a U-shaped recess in the cable-box, or compartment entry, which, opt., is grooved to accept a locating rib (13). During insertion, the opening side-walls (6', 6") come together, and the cylindrical central web (6"') grips the cable. A kidney-shaped expansion space (9), outside the web, allows different cable diameters to be accepted; the end-to-end seal is preserved by a thin quasi-conical partition wall across this space. |
