PURPOSE: To enable easy setting of data of different odd methods at an electronic musical instrument connected by a MIDI cable. CONSTITUTION: When a user operates keyboards 1a to 1z while pressing a shift key 2, the key touch information thereof is not as sound production instruction and is judged to be an instruction for forming a MIDI command. When, for example, the user operates the keyboard 1a while pressing the shift key 2, this operation is judged to be bank selection mode and the numerical values meeting the operation of the numerical value keys allotted to the keyboards 1g to 1w to be operated next are interpreted as decimal numbers when the keyboard 1y is finally operated. The numerical value is interpreted to be hexadecimal and the numerical value data is formed when the keyboard 1z is operated. The MIDI command formed in such a manner is sent to an electronic musical instrument connected by the MIDI cable and the electronic musical instrument is controlled according to the MIDI command. |
