A method for manufacturing a back plate of a plasma dispay panel wherein the plate is constituted with at least either barrier rib forming sections (2b) by a barrier rib precursor mixture of an organic material stably covered with an inorganic material, or electrode patterns (5) containing an electrode material and the organic material, and multicolor patterns (4a, 4b, 4c) containing a fluosphor and the organic material. The back plate of the plasma display panel thus constituted is disposed in predetermined positions and baked.
