PURPOSE: To prevent an installation error, and prevent the deformation of an electric connector by providing an installation error preventing mechanism for allowing installation of it into a housing only when a subject member to be connected is correctly installed. CONSTITUTION: In a connector 10, a protective wall 14 is moved in a direction B1 by energization by a coil spring 20 to be positioned at a connection impossible position. When foreign matter is inserted into an installation recessed part 15, its insertion is prohibited by the protective wall 14. In this condition, when an IC card 11 is inserted correctly, an engagement groove part 22 is engaged with an engagement protrusion 21, so an erroneous installation preventing mechanism allows insertion of it into the installation recessed part 15. The card 11 advances into the recessed part 15, and its tip part is simultaneously applied to taper parts 18, 19 formed in the protective wall 14. As the card 11 is operated to be installed in the recessed part 15, the tip part of the card 11 presses the taper parts 18, 19, the protective wall 14 moves to a connection possible position in a direction B2, and the card 11 is connected to an electric connector 13. |
