PURPOSE: To provide an electro-rheological fluid compsn. capable of preventing coagulation of particles and stably maintaining the function for a long period of time and a force transmission controller using the same. CONSTITUTION: An electro-rheological fluid compsn. 1 comprises an electrical insulating medium 2, and particles 3, having an electro-rheological effect, contained in the electrical insulating medium 2. The electrical insulating medium 2 comprises two or more media 2a, 2b which have respective separated phases and are different from each other in specific gravity. At least one medium 2b in the electrical insulating medium 2 has a higher specific gravity than the particles 3. The fluid compsn. 1 is interposed between electrodes 11a and 11b to provide a force transmission control device. |
