FIELD: medicine; methods for production of surgical sutural materials with antimicrobial effect. SUBSTANCE: Existing drawbacks of the silk surgical thread in form of capillary, hygroscopicity, roughness and rigidly may result in serious infection and trophic operative and postoperative complications. The known method for imparting the antimicrobial properties to surgical thread by its coating with resolving glue composition with antimicrobial substance fails to ensure prolonged antimicrobial effect of the preparation and fails to eliminate completely the complications. Method for improvement of quality of silk surgical thread, first, includes impregnation of the thread with 3% solution of collagen with subsequent drying, and, then, collagen is impregnated with the aid of antimicrobial preparation (5-nitrofuril-2)-acrolein. The offered method features the following virtues: (1)collagenation of silk thread eliminates its such drawbacks as hygroscopicity and capillary that excludes its infection; (2) due to impregnation of the thread with antimicrobial substance and subsequent drying, polyfilament structure of the silk thread changes into monofilament with high strength; (3) depolymerization of collagenated thread provides for prolonged antimicrobial effect; (4) due to collagenation the silk thread acquires some other biological properties which promote acceleration of reparatory processes; (5) collagenation of silk thread increases its elasticity to reduce its injuring and squeezing effect on the tissues and decreases the number of complications in form of decubituses and fistulas. EFFECT: simplified method and decreased operative and postoperative complications in use of silk surgical thread. |
