PURPOSE: To correctly recognize a display content and to visualize the operation part of a peripheral equipment even when a light source is turned off at a dark place by disposing a member having luminous pigment at least one part between the light source and a liquid crystal display element. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device 21 is provided with a fluorescent lamp 31 such as a cold cathode tube emitting light, a light transmission plate 32 formed of a transparent material such as an acrylic plate and provided with an insertion hole 32a for arranging the lamp 31, the luminous member 38 consisting of acrylic resin in which the luminous pigment is mixed, the liquid crystal display element 33 transmitting and interrupting the light according to given information and a transparent protection cover 34 for protecting the surface of the element 33. Then, since the luminous pigment in the luminous member 38 storing the light when the power source of the equipment is turned on emits the light when the power source of the equipment is turned off, the element 23 is irradiated with the light and the display content is recognized even at the dark because the light is transmitted or interrupted by the element 33. |
