CONSTITUTION: The color filters with respective colors are selectively formed on the pixel electrodes 13 on an active matrix substrate 11 by an electrodeposition method and the binder dispersed with a coloring material for a colored layer of the color filter is formed of an oriented film material Thereby the color filter can be formed without using a photolingraphy process and a process for forming the oriented film 22 is unnecessary. The active matrix substrate 11 with color filters is manufactured and the oriented film 22 is simultaneously formed merely by adding a process for forming color filters by the electrodeposition method by using the pixel electrodes 13 on the active matrix substrate 11 as electrodes for electrodeposition.
