ENDOSCOPE LIGHTING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To obtain an image which is sufficiently bright over the entire observation picture plane irrelevantly to the position and attitude of a subject by enabling the projection end optical axis of the light guide for lighting to be displaced at a right angle to the optical axis of a lens system for scattering which is arranged in front of the projection end optical axis. CONSTITUTION: This endoscope lighting system is provided with a displacement driving mechanism 24 which displaces the projection end optical axes ALG of a couple of right and left light guides 14 to the optical axes ACL of respective concave lens systems 18 in front of them in the right and left inward directions from on the same axis. This displacement driving mechanism 24 is a link mechanism which is driven through a shift operation wire 34 through the operation of a light source shift lever 36. This displacement driving mechanism 24 is properly operated to vary the divergence direction of the light projected from the projection ends of the respective light guides 14, i.e., the irradiation range according to the position and attitude of the subject.
