PURPOSE: To easily select a desired title by listing up the words and phrases, the similar words, etc., which are partly matched with each other even when a given title is partly ambiguous or only the relative words and phrases are reminded. CONSTITUTION: This electronic file device is provided with a dictionary management part 6 which systematically stores the word or phrases in a storage 7 and can read out them as necessary, a mean which inputs an incomplete character string and then points an ambiguous word, and a means which lists up the words and phrases corresponding to the designated character string out of the part 6 by the operation of the preceding pointing means. When a title is set, the words and phrases desired by a user are selected out of those listed-up words and phrases. Thus a desired title is decided. When only the words and phrases that can be partly reminded are used to a title setting, the largest number of character strings that can be reminded by the user are inputted and pointed. So that the user can select his desired ones out of those listed-up word and phrase candidates and can fast and accurately set a desired title. |
