An additional rotary rubber roller is brought to the grinding wheel at least during the last stage of grinding. It is made of a harder rubber than that of the rubber roller being ground. The additional roller has a hardness of from 50 to 80 Shore A. It has a density of 1.1 to 1.4 g/cm<3>. It has an elasticity of 20 to 40 percent. The additional rubber roller rotates at a speed providing constant abrasion on the grinding wheel. The rotary rubber roller for grinding and the additional rotary rubber roller rotates to synchronise with the grinding wheel.
