The dowel includes round wedges (2,3) with their backs to the aperture wall, held together by a disc (1). The wedges have heads (4,5) with semi-circular cross-sections. One wedge (3) has a wedge-shaped rib (6), which cuts back the aperture as the other wedge (2) is driven in. A recess (7) makes the insertion easier.
