The depth limiter consists of a cylindrical housing (1) made with a top cover (2) which has an aperture (6) and an auxiliary by-pass duct (E), and a spring loaded piston (3,5) inside the housing.In the event of the diver going below five metres the piston is forced inside the housing by the water pressure so that it cuts off the main air flow between ducts (A,F), allowing a reduced flow through the by-pass duct (E). The diver will notice the reduction in the air supply and rise to a safe depth.
