PURPOSE: To enhance the accuracy of decision as to whether the waking degree is degraded or not by extracting the three points of original heart beat fluctuation waveforms, counting these three points every time the three points have patterns of ascending and descending or descending and ascending and deciding a physiological state with the count values as a substitutive index for the high-frequency component in the original heart beat fluctuation waveforms. CONSTITUTION: The output signal from an electrocardiogram pickup is amplified by a differential input amplifier 1 and only the R waves are extracted by a BPF 2. Next, these R waves are amplified by an amplifier 3 and are subjected to sample holding in a sample-hold circuit 4 and are converted to signal signals by an A/D converter 5. These digital signals are taken via a buffer memory 6 and a data bus 7 into the CPU 10. The intervals of the heart beat are determined to form the original heart beat fluctuation waveforms and the three points of the original heart beat fluctuation waveforms are extracted. The three points are counted every time the three points have the patterns of ascending and descending or descending and ascending. The count values are formed as the substitutive index for the high-frequency component in the original heart beat fluctuation waveforms and are utilized for decision of the degradation of the waking degree, etc. |
