PURPOSE: To provide evaluating technique and device in which spatial spreading information of ultrasonic waves is adopted in a tissue evaluating device using ultrasonic waves. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic transmitter 10 radiates an ultrasonic beam having directivity toward a living body 100. The ultrasonic beam having directivity is diffracted and scattered by a microscopic structure in the interior of a bone to spread spatially and form an interference pattern (intensity distribution) where the microscopic structure of a bone is reflected when it is transmitted through the heel bone 120 of the living body 100 especially. The transmitted ultrasonic wave is received by a receiving vibrator array 20, and the intensity distribution of transmitted ultrasonic waves is obtained from an output signal of each ultrasonic vibrator of the array. According to the intensity distribution, the evaluation value of the tissue is calculated. |
