PURPOSE: To efficiently hold waste liquid by providing the discharge side of first waste liquid transfer means at one end of a waste liquid absorber, and providing the discharged of second waste liquid transfer means at the other end of the absorber. CONSTITUTION: A treating solution recovery unit 17 provided for special purpose cartridge containing treating solution is arranged at the left side. A pump unit similar to a recovery unit 13 is also provided in the unit 17, and if the discharge of the solution is failed, suction recovery process is conducted. The liquid discharged from the discharge head by such recovering process is absorbed to waste liquid absorber 16 via a tube 18 of waste liquid transfer means. The unit 17 is independently provided in the unit 13 to avoid the suction failure of the pump unit due to thickening or fixing of the ink and the liquid in the pump. |
