PURPOSE: To obtain a multilayer brick enabling to accurately shape the thickness, position, etc., of a different phase part and capable of being produced in high efficiency and at a low cost by mounting a fire-resistant sheet on the different phase part of the brick, the fire-resistant sheet being produced by adding a flexible binder and a strength-expressing binder to a fire-resistant refractory. CONSTITUTION: The multilayer brick is produced by forming a fire-resistant sheet from a fire-resistant material comprising 100 pts.wt. of a fire-resistant aggregate, 6-20 pts.wt. of a flexible binder used for imparting flexibility at the ordinary temperature, such as polyvinyl butyral, an acrylic resin or methyl cellulose, and 0.5-10 pts.wt. of a strength-expressing binder used for expressing the strength at >=400 deg.C, such as a phenolic resin, a silica sol, a compound silicate or a compound phosphate, and subsequently mounting the formed fire-resistant sheet on the different phase part where the local change in the composition of the brick is desired. The multilayer brick enables to accurately shape the thickness, position, etc., of the desired different phase part. Since the control accuracy of the different phase part is enhanced, the different phase part can be formed in a necessary minimum shape. When a high cost raw material is especially used for the different phase part, the cost can be reduced. |
