A gearbox which consists of a primary shaft (1) and two secondary shafts (2,3), all with parallel axes and the three of them supported in rotation in a housing (4). One of the shafts (1), the second (3) of the two secondary shafts, carries free running pinions (35,36) of two of the higher gear ratios. The first shaft (2) of the two, carries the reverse pinion (250) and the free running pinions (21,22,23,24) of the other gear ratios.
