PURPOSE: To make the emitted amt. of a liquid constant by altering the pulse width and intermittent interval of the pulse electric signal applied to an electrothermal conversion means on the basis of the printing history data of a nozzle. CONSTITUTION: In a usual state such that heat is not accumulated in the conductive ink within an ink liquid passage, pulse electric signals 9, 10 short in cutting- off cycle and made long in cutting-off time are applied to the electrodes of an emitting part 1 from a supply part on the basis of supply part control signals 7, 8. When it is estimated that heat is accumulated in the conductive ink on the basis of the past emission history, pulse electric signals 9, 10 made long in cutting-off cycle and short in cutting-off time are applied to the electrodes of the emitting part from the supply part on the basis of the supply part control signals 7, 8 corresponding to the degree of heat accumulation to rapidly heat the conductive ink. The size of a boiling air bubble is suppressed by rapid heating and the effect of an increase in the diameter of the boiling air bubble due to heat accumulation is set off to uniformize an emitted liquid amt. and stable printing quality can be ensured. |
