<p>Compositions are provided for protecting exterior surfaces of automobiles and other products, or components of products, against abrasion, abrasive dust, water, acid rain, etc. Methods of producing protective compositions where the degree of adhesion of the composition may be simply governed are also provided. One composition comprises an acrylic copolymer, a heat reactive acrylic latex polymer, and a wax. The composition may additionally comprise a pigment and/or a thickener. Other compositions comprise a poly(carboxylic acid), a poly ether, and optionally a pigment. The compositions dry on the exterior surfaces to form a tough flexible coating that can be removed by mechanical peeling.</p> |
