<p>A device for making gear change of a bicycle during stable operation of the handlebar and enabling prompt braking during gear change so as to greatly increase safety during running. The device is provided with: a cylindrical operating body (11) rotatably fitted over and supported by the outer periphery of a grip of the handlebar (3); an operating mechanism (12) for gear change disposed near the grip of the handlebar (3) and capable of drawing or paying out a cable for gear change; and a transmission mechanism (13) interposed between the cylindrical operating body (11) and the gear change mechanism (12) and operating in association with the rotating operation of the cylindrical operating body (11) the gear change mechanism (12); in which the speed changing mechanism (12) is in such a structure as capable of drawing and paying out the gear change cable using reciprocating turning operation in one direction from the neutral rotational position of the cylindrical operating body (11). <IMAGE></p> |
