<p>The invention relates to a re-usable abrasive blasting material of thermoplastically processible polymer granules filled with finely divided metal, the metal particles being treated with an adhesion promoter, which blasting material is suitable for deburring metal castings, in particular ground metal castings. The invention also relates to a process for producing this abrasive blasting agent, in which polymer granules of commercially available thermoplastic, selected from the group comprising polyamide and polycarbonate, is intimately mixed with a metal from the group comprising iron, copper, tin and alloys thereof, which thermoplastic has been treated with an adhesion promoter, the metal or the alloy being in a finely divided spherical form or in the form of powder with particle sizes from 0.01 to 0.5 mm, and this mixture being extruded in a conventional manner, preferably as a strip, and comminuted to the desired form and size. The abrasive blasting agent has the form of cubic particles of 0.75 to 2.0 mm edge length.</p> |
