Locking mechanism with rotating key bit for door

The key bit (4), during part of the turning motion, engages an engagement part of a driver (8) to drive a bolt (10). The circular driver can be moved round the rotation axis (15) of the key bit and the engaged driver sector (16) stands concave to the bit and is itself partly circular. The driver and the driver sector rotate round axis (18) at a distance from the bit axis (14). A tooth (22) forming part of the driver sector can make contact with the key bit in addition to the several teeth (24) of the driver which are used to engage the lock bolt. The track (11) travelled by the driver sector surrounds the lock cylinder (28), the driver halted by a stopper (30) which engages the driver cylinder off a spring or gravity etc. whenever the bit escapes from the driver sector. The stopper engages the drive's teeth and can only be released by renewed engagement of the bit. It is the swivel action of the bit into and out of the engagement sector which controls the stopper function.
