Unsaturated ketones as accelerators for hydrosilylation

Hydrosilation comprises contacting reactants a silicon hydride of formula (I) (R1)a(H)bSiCl(4-a-b) where R1 is 1-12C alkyl, 4-12C cycloalkyl or aryl; a = 0-3; b = 1-3; and a+b = 1-4; and (B) an unsatd. reactant chosen from; (i) opt.substd. unsatd. organic cpds.; (ii) Si cpds. having opt. substd. unsatd. substits.; (iii) mixts. of (i) and (ii), in the presence of a Pt cpd. or Pt complex and an unsatd. ketone accelerator of formula (II) R2CO(CH2)nCH=CR3R4 or (III). In the formulae, R2 is 1-12C alkyl; R3 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R4 is H or 1-12C non-aryl monovalent hydrocarbon; n = 0-4; and m = 1-17.
