PURPOSE: To obtain a modified cellulose fiber dyeable with a reactive dye even without adding an alkali and a salt and dyeable with an acid dye by mixing a set modifying agent with a viscose spinning solution or a cellulose solution. CONSTITUTION: A polymeric amine compound having a primary, a secondary or a tertiary amino group as a side group and >=1,000 molecular weight, preferably a polymeric amine compound composed of monomeric units represented by formula I, formula II and/or formula III (R<1> and R<2> are each independently H, a 1-4C alkyl or the like; R<3> is H, methyl or ethyl; R<4> is H, methyl or ethyl; m is 1-4; o is 0-4) or a combination of the monomeric units is used as a modifier. The resultant modifier is added to a cellulose solution and spun or the modifier is added to a viscose solution and spun according to a viscose spinning method to afford a modified cellulose fiber.
